review 1: This book is fantastic! I love it! It's not a book with just a bunch of dirty sex, it's real feeling. Not everything is suppose to just automatically work out. This story gives you a good dose of what feels like could really happen in a 3 way relationship. I love the awkwardness Russell feels b/c it's relatable! Not every guy would be able to be in his shoes! The story is hot!! Most of us struggle for confidence with one man, I couldn't imagine two men playing with me, pleasing me, me pleasing them back. It gives you the tingle in your core, Wishing you had four hands exploring your body, making you feel what Lauren feels. The whole book was captivating but the ending was phenomenal! There's a twist you don't anticipate that will leave your heart in shambles. The ending, ... morealthough perfectly complete, leads me to think the author could add a second book to Jason, Lauren, & Russell's story. Which would be amazing!
review 2: Trifecta ReviewI don't like leaving bad reviews because I feel that an author makes an extreme effort to publish his or her work to share with readers and if I don't enjoy it, then that's on me. However, in the case of Trifecta I really wanted to like this book but I just couldn't. I love menage books, especially MFM menages, but the writing style of this book left a lot to be desired. Due to the overuse of the pronoun "he," several times I found myself confused as to whether it was Russell or Jason speaking or thinking and had to reread a passage to figure it out. I enjoy books that are written from the main characters' point of view but in this case the POV jumped from character to character quickly and often without an indication of the change that the writing felt schizophrenic. Finally, I absolutely love angst in my romances, but there was just too much angst; it felt as if as soon as the trio conquered one obstacle another one immediately appeared and there just wasn't enough time to enjoy their success to balance out the angst. Trifecta has a lot of potential and I think it would benefit greatly from a rewrite to address the "he" issue, to add more positive interactions between the trio, and to expand the time frame between the hospital scene and the HEA, as well as some formatting adjustments to make POV shifts more recognizable. I would be willing to give a revised edition a reread to see if it achieved its potential because I did like the characters and the sex scenes were very well written. less
