review 1: Strange, suspenseful, twisted. Raiser carried the story line well through the book, keeping details hidden and the truth obscured. I wavered between thinking this was juvenile fiction to well balanced, light adult. She also did a good job of introducing new angles to the story without bending the picture out of focus. Unfortunately, the ending seemed a bit rushed and didn't carry the careful storytelling that was evident in the beginning. It seemed too many loose threads had to be gathered in a short space. While the rest of the story felt like I was enjoying a nice sit-down meal, the ending reminded me of fast food. Overall, a good, quick read.
review 2: The story kept you guessing what was going on until the last few chapters. I had to finish the book i
... moren one sitting. The story premise was unique, but could have been filled out with more background and detail to tie in the "alien" aspect. In addition, there were numerous grammatical and structuring mistakes - could have used a good editor to clean it up - but that is just a peeve of mine; others may not notice so much. less
