review 1: I did not like this book. I was angered that the h's sister was on the H's side after finding out that the H treated her sister so badly and the sister pushed the h to forgive him and get over it. Basically so that the h wouldn't ruin the sister's marriage prospect with the H. It also angered me that the H asked the h's sister to marry him out of "obligation" even when he knew he loved the h. He really wasn't even pushed very hard to offer, but for some reason he grudgingly did. It was all very awkward and cold overall. It seemed that the H and h spent very little time together and there wasn't much to this story.
review 2: I truly enjoyed Ms. Truesdale's first book, My Dear Sophy. However, being completely honest, I'd have to say that I liked this one even mor
... moree. It was unexpected and delightful - I truly couldn't put it down as I read chapter to chapter waiting to find out how all of these twists and turns would be resolved. The story was sweet and simple and all of subplots came together nicely at the end. I believe this genre is one of Ms. Truesdale's strengths and I'm quite glad that this is part of the "Unexpected Love Series" as I can't wait to read many more of these stories. Perhaps Cat and Jack can have a whirlwind romance of their own?!Additionally, I enjoyed reading about an overweight female that was a "main" character and love interest (as opposed to the "best friend/side kick"). Although Izzy was a strong, intelligent, and funny character, Ms. Truesdale also captured her insecurities beautifully. Tiny spoiler alert: It was refreshing to see an overweight character be loved not because she suddenly lost weight or otherwise altered her appearance (as I've frequently seen elsewhere) but because someone shed his prejudices and realized she was truly lovable the entire time. less
