review 1: WARNING SPOILERSI think I am missing the second half of the book where what happened to Lincoln was just a nightmare. I'm missing the part where Hades and Lincoln go to prom and get married and grow old together and share their last breaths. I must be missing the ending. I was so unprepared for this novel. I thought it was a chick lit. I thought everything would go relatively smooth and the ending would be perfect. I don't think I have been more wrong.I really connected with Kant's characters. They were just so refreshing and real and they didn't put up with life's pointless bull. Heck, Hadie even said at his funeral that fake people (like his family) could go F*** themselves because they (Hades and Lincoln) weren't going to give in to their games. I really like Eddie, alt... morehough I'm not a fan of Hades being with anyone other than Lincoln. Although I do hope that Hades can find love again (although when Hadie and Lincoln meet again in heaven or whatever comes after this life, they can finally be together without losing one or the other)And yes. I am crying right now. What Hadie said at his funeral was just so devastatingly beautiful my heart is hurting. Thanks a billion Komal Kant. But really - thank you Komal Kant. I always need a novel like this every now and then to remind me of how fortunate I am.This book to put it simply wasDevastatingly beautiful. It is definitely a must read.
review 2: Umm...wow.wow, wow, wow is all I can say. I did not expect that turn in events! I did have an inkling of an idea of Links secret just over half way but it still didn't prepare me for the blow. I cried and then some...The reason why it's getting four and not a five star review was because I could not stand Links family! They are a bunch of a*holes and couldn't believe they treated him the way they did considering... especially his sister. What a bi*ch. If I could slap her I would. Arh it makes me so angry just thinking about it now. I get that's how they were supposed to be perceived but I thought it was a little over the top and unrealistic for the family to be that far fetched. But go Hadie! I really wish there was more to her story and what happens with Eddie but I guess we'll see. less
