review 1: I liked a lot of this book. The idea of meeting someone really nice on a beach vacation and then discovering he's rich is well, an almost perfect fantasy for me.The problem was some of the very real relationship problems here--like him not being happy with his career and his working so much that they barely got to see each other were not really confronted much. Why bring them up then? It's like love was supposed to be a kind of bandage that would solve everything for the characters. That's too much fantasy.
review 2: I liked Jack and Emma's story! It was was sweet and perfect for summer. I liked this author's twist on the "billionaire" story and would love to see where she takes the rest of this series. (I listened to the audiobook format while reading alon... moreg on my Kindle. While I liked the story quite a bit, I thought the audiobook was a little bit flat - I almost stopped the audio but didn't because I was tied up with some work. By the time I was able to actually stop what I was doing long enough to "stop" the audiobook, I was used to the narrator enough that the flat tone and inflection didn't bother me anymore, and I continued. I would be hesitant to recommend this one to audiobook listeners.)Liked the story, though! It was fun! less
