review 1: First of all, I have always been drawn to WWII fiction and non-fiction but I have read some books that I have not cared for. I also enjoy books which include musicians or music being a musician myself. And again, I have read books with those themes that just didn't do anything for me. That being said, I absolutely loved this book. I was drawn in by the prose and the story from the beginning and finished this book in a couple of days because I just did not want to put it down (I finished at 1:30am and was very tired a work the next day). This follows the story of Sera James, a woman looking for a painting from WWII for her gallery who is dealing with her own trust issues after a failed relationship. It is also about the girl in the painting - Adele, a talented Austrian... more violinist. The story of both characters builds and unfolds throughout the book and movement between past and present in the story is clear. It is part historical, part mystery, and part love story all in one totally engaging, mesmerizing story. It is a story of hope and survival amidst loss, heartbreak, and horrific events while still including themes of faith and honoring God. The second book of the series will be in spring 2015 and I cannot wait. I will definitely pick that one up. Kristy Cambron is a new author for me to follow.
review 2: You will need tissues for this one! Although sad even overwhelming at times due to the tragic truths of the holocaust I appreciate the inspiration the characters offer. I enjoyed getting wrapped up in this historical fiction that flipped back and forth from present day to a Word War II setting. I enjoyed the clean romance(s)and the characters of faith. Many of the characters were musicians and artists who had the inner need to create and use their talents to express their emotions (this is so foreign to this non-creative person) and so very inspiring to me less

It was riveting. I wish I was more prepared for it being Christian fiction.
