The story tells how she learns to surf through wipe outs until she is able to do it on her own. Written with a rhyme scheme that will make this story amusing to read aloud and discuss the positive message it invokes that you can do anything you want to in life.
review 2: I thought this book was cute!I searched for books on surfing and saw this come up at the library.I love the illustrations....most if not all of them take up the entire page,and the colors and characters are very appealing.I really like the rhyming text too! I think it flows well and it's nice to hav... moree a rhythmic book about the ocean, which is a very rhythmic thing in itself!The only thing I wanted was more story.I like that she fails the first time, and that her Dad encourages her,but I think her ultimate success would have felt more satisfying if she would have struggled more to get there.That being said, it's still a really fun book and a great introduction to surfing! less
