review 1: This was a wonderful book. The characters were well thought out with flaws and strengths. I read a few chapters each night and had to force myself to put it down and turn off the lights. The only thing I found hard to read was the journal entries. They seemed out of place, but they gave such great insight into Dillon that I knew they were necessary to the story. They were just oddly placed in my opinion. If you enjoy romance, angst, action and adventure, then read this book. You won't be disappointed.
review 2: I really wish there was a 3.5 star rating for this book. The story was good with lots of action, it was well-written, but there were certain parts of the characters that I really didn't like. After 6 years of marriage, Dillon suddenly decides that he c... morean't risk his back-from-the-dead wife's life anymore and wants to be noble and give Sara her freedom, and thus, protection. Admittedly, he has gone through the pain of her death and losing her once, but if his memories of them are as good as he (and she) remember, he should realize sooner that he should grab on tight to this woman and never let go again. Dillon is willing to go up against a monster of a drug lord, but won't take the risk of fighting for the woman he loves. Not that Sara is really any better. She lost her husband, had a baby by herself, learned to run and hide and fight for survival's sake, but doesn't go full-force against her husband to let him know how she feels and that he should man-up and fight for their love as she plans to do. The fireworks and relationship between Sara and Dillon could have been much hotter. That said, the action against the bad guys was great. The author did a wonderful job of creating a villain that readers will love to hate. She also left room for spin-off or related books that would tell the story of Matt and Craig. less
