review 1: Yayy. I'm done with the book. I wanna read it again though in one sitting. Sigh. It's bitin. I can't compare it with Please Look After Mom. Both were good. This one though is something that I am more familiar with. Perhaps because the characters are nearer my age. And I have to admit-- bits of my past were echoed in some parts of the novel. There are lots of loopholes though. Could that be Kyung-sook Shin's trademark? She leaves her readers guessing. Not too bad. But there were lots of unexplained circumstances that I should would like to know. Sigh. It's good. It's beautiful. I am going to read it again. :)

... morege in Korea. We get brief glimpses of her childhood, and don't get to really know her or her friends, just what has happened to them. I found it to be rather depressing, but not in a bad way, if that makes sense. I wanted to know what happened next, and especially how it all came together in the end. I will read it again. less

A touching story. Enjoyed it more towards the end. I can see people relating to the story.
