review 1: I thought this was pretty well written, a sweet and quick read. But the plot bothered me. The idea that a ten-year-old has a viable business plan is unlikely in this case. A town that tiny just would not have enough people to buy her ice cream. More than that though, it seemed out of character for the proud dutiful man to accept a significant loan from someone he hasn't seen in 12 years (and didn't know that well back in the day) to start said risky business. The girl's father is also conspicuously absent from the story. Why is she being raised by her uncle after her mother's death and not her father? The author wants this burden on the uncle's shoulders so badly that she even explains away any help from the grandparents, but only on the mother's side. There is a g... moreiant, gaping father-sized hole in the plot that really bugged me.Besides all that, the romance is unsatisfying. There's no suspense as we know they like each other from the beginning. They're even dating so it isn't a secret from each other. **spoiler alert** The minor tension comes from the obstacle (distance) that could keep them apart. But at the end of the story, that obstacle has still not been addressed.
review 2: Haley Carstons, was looking back painfully through her heart. It was 12 years ago, prom night, she was 17 years old, they moves to Redbud Trailer, Oklahoma in her senior. Katie Micheal her friend told her that she would get her a date to the prom because Haley was new in town. She wore this strawberry prom dress and Katie did her makeup. She looked in Katie mirror she looked like a stranger. Katie hooked her up with Katie brother, Maddox Micheal, he was in college on a football scholarship, he was handsome, Katie, almost the same as told her that he was the only one she could get. Maddox had to run with Haley to get away from all the kid that wanted his autograph. He told Haley, he was sorry for that and that they didn't get to dance. Haley told Maddox, that it was hard for her to make friends and if he wanted to leave that was okay and that she knew that Katie, talk him into going with her. He took her in his arms and she fit great there, that is when he fell in love with her. Haley left for college. Now Haley was back in town. She was made power of attorney for her aunt Matila. Her aunt had cancer. You need to read the book to see if Katie still live in this town! You need to read it to see if Maddox, was still in town and if he is do they get together! If you don't read it you will be sorry because you will never know all of these things! I was given this book for my honest opinion. Blessings to you. I think it was well put together and i loved the characters in the book. I though it was a really good book. less
