review 1: This was sweet without being remotely cloying, very nicely written and real. I started reading expecting to be bored and skim since school/ young adult stories aren't usually my thing, but I couldn't put it down. Low key, elegant and full of emotion, but not the OTT saccharine romance that seems to do well in m/m. It was also genuinely British without showboating about it. I'd like to read more of the author's work because I love her voice, but it seems this is pretty much it.
review 2: I really appreciate a well written third person narrative. Everything is from Laurence's point of view, with Aaron's sexuality left deliberatly ambiguous. This allowed for some angst, but thankfully this was more sweet and loving, than angsty and drama-filled.Aaron is the best b

I loved them falling in love but not them falling apart, it was never satisfactorily justified.
