review 1: This was actually kind of a lot of fun. Not a typical contemporary high school YA to say the least, which I really liked. But I was really bothered by a number of things in this book, in particular, the relationship between Aggie and her mother. I suppose that's kind of the point, that Aggie's mother just DOESN'T LISTEN, but it seemed so over the top that I was fed up with her almost before I even saw her the first time. And with a relationship that fraught with misunderstanding and lack of attention, the sudden realization/understanding/now-I-see-the-light moment at the end seemed unfounded and far too obvious.
review 2: To be completely honest this novel could have been better. However it was well written and the characters were easy to relate and highly beli
... moreevable. The plot itself was eady to follow but the normal cliche were in the end everyone gets along. The end of this novel was completely realistic which warmed my heart because lately writers have settled for wrapping loss ends by simply having a cliche "and they all lived happily ever after". I will not go into further details because than I would have spoiled the ending. less

This was a very melodramatic, after-school-special kind of teen book.

A quirky, fun read. Very interesting that it's based on a true story!
