review 1: ~ I received an ARC from the author for an honest review ~She's a little bit country and he's a little bit rock and roll...yeah I went there and oh boy was it a lot of fun. On the one hand you have adorable Harmony (Hannah) a successful country singer...then enter pierced and tatted bad boy Reaper (Garrett)and his band of heavy metal rockers...mix them all together and add in adoring fans, a crazy ex-boyfriend, some serious motherly concern and you have this sweet and spicy story of romance on the road. This was a book as much about learning to find strength and love yourself after coming out of an abusive relationship, as much as it is about Harmony and Reaper making beautiful music together (on and off the stage). Harmony has a serious problem with low self-esteem and no ... morematter how successful she is, battles feelings of self loathing because of the mental and physical abusive games by her EX.Great supporting cast of characters...friends, family and bandmates all interact to make this book very entertaining!I love Laramie Briscoe's easy way of telling a story and making you feel like you really know these people...she makes them so believable and down to earth that you don't feel like you are reading something too unrealistic. If you like a light romantic read with a few steamy scenes thrown in for fun and also a good book with a message that is not too preachy but hits the mark nonetheless...grab this one. It is a big departure from her Heaven Hill series and would be suitable for a YA reader (no graphic sex or violence).***** 5 ***** "Rocking and rolling into a new beginning" stars
review 2: I am fortunate enough to have gotten to read this early and now I have to wait until July to spend more time with Garrett? This isnt fair. I love Laramie's writing but this is by far my favorite and not just because my name is in it. The story felt very real, like they were people I could know, aside from being rock stars. I paced myself on reading it at first and then I just couldn't make myself stop. I love that Laramie always includes a message important to today's society. I will be a fan for a long time to come. I just don't want to wait four months to hang with my peeps. less
