review 1: This one is a little less believable than the rest of the series, but it touches on an important topic anyway. Layne, a new member of the club, suffers from PTSD after his service in Iraq. He is haunted by what he considers his betrayal of his team.When an old friend comes to Kentucky (cue the less believable part) Layne is forced to face up to his demons. Another part of the underlying thread comes up here, and you really want to pull it and see what happens when it unravels.
review 2: This has been my favorite book in the series so far. All of Laramie Briscoe’s books are amazing and battle tough subjects. In this installment of the Heaven Hill series she battles PTSD and be true to yourself no matter what your dream is.Layne O’Conner is a war veteran t... morerying to cope in the normal world. He finds comfort in the Heaven Hill Motorcycle Club. The fast paced life style is everything he thought he was looking for then his past catches up to him.Jessica Shea is a movie starlet who is afraid her privacy has been comprised. She leaves the hustle and bustle of city life to seek solace in the only person who has ever treated her like a normal person. All she wants is to peruse her real dream but is afraid that everyone will turn their back on her.As Jessica and Layne’s story progresses they struggle to find out if the past should stay in the past or if they can take what they had once upon a time and turn it in to a some-what happily ever after. Be sure to check out this installment to find out.Laramie Briscoe is an amazing author. Her talent has only blossomed throughout her writing career. She gets better with each book she writes. I love all of her books and can’t wait to see where she takes this series. less
