review 1: I really enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. It surprised me because I thought it'd be a frivolous summer romance story, which it kind of was, but it was more than that. I love how it addresses female rivalry, and why girls (and women) are bitches to one another sometimes. I also love how it addresses the friendships between girls, and the whole frenemy thing too. There's also very good advice about how if a relationship makes you unhappy, then it's probably not the right one to be in. Some of the characters in the story take a while to see that, and I know some people in real life stay in bad relationships for a long time and close their eyes to things they don't want to see because they're too afraid to be alone. Accepting people as they are, and not who you wa... morent them to be is another issue addressed in the book. It's really interesting, now that I think about it, how well this book was written. I didn't really focus on these issues while reading it, but writing the review now makes me realize that I'd taken away a lot more than I expected to get from the book. But don't get me wrong, with all the talk of addressing issues and stuff, the book itself wasn't boring or preachy or anything like that at all. I was really pulled into the story actually. Sabrina's mother suing Dee's mother made the whole thing exciting and there were some other mysteries involved that made me very anxious to know what happened next. It's a great book, and I enjoyed reading it very much. There are some books for young adults out there that makes me cringe knowing that teens might be emulating behaviors in those books. This book, I would recommend highly, and loudly, to all teens.
review 2: This book is about two enemies that still go at each other about the same boyfriend they dated. Its really funny and tells a good love story in the middle. It also has a lot of flirting.. The main character Dee, flirts a lot but thats what teenage girls do and this book really relates to the real world. Many people would agree with this book and say "Mhmm, heard that before".I picked up this book because I wanted to read a different genre and prove these lovey dovey teenage books are not just for girls! Anyone can read them. I finished this book because it did a very good job in creating suspense and humor. It was the perfect mix or humor and romance at the same time.I recommend this book to teenagers 12 to 16 because if what happened in the book didn't already happen to you, it soon will. I think this book would be successful because anyone can read it and relate. One of the most important things in a book is that if a reader can relate to it. Adults have gone through the teenage years and will bring back some memories and teenagers are just starting to learn about it. less
