review 1: This book is not what I am normally used to. This is cheesy romanticism and typical stereotypical outlooks on how we view ourselves. Dee and Natalie are best friends and always ready to win another guy over. When Sabrina comes along, she not only ruins her social status at school, her mother brings down Dee's mothers campground and that's when things start to boil. Madeline, on the other hand, is Dee's grandmother who is also mourning over Dee's father's death. Mona, after filing the lawsuit, gets with Larson, but as it turns out he's a gold-digger. He has been using not only Mona but Kathleen Myers, and after a few hours of digging, finding countless other woman. At the end, Sabrina, Dee, Natalie, and tom-boy Roxanna come together to figure this whole mess out and end up ... moreas great friends, wondering how their social status will increase.
review 2: Actual Rating: 4.5 starsThis book really surprised me! I started it expecting a casual summery teen romance, but boy, was I wrong! To be honest, at first, it was kinda boring, but I kept reading, and I'm happy I did, because it turned out to surpass my expectations! And there's a HUGE twist in the middle, something no one could have ever seen coming! The only flaw I would say is that it got a teeny bit confusing, since both Dee and her arch-enemy Sabrina's POV alternate throughout the book... This does make the book better though, because we can't judge either girl based on the other's description of her, creating a much needed break from the good girl- villian cliche.I would recommend this to any girl who's looking for an alternative, twisted kind of summer read... less
