review 1: Allison is only aiming at a quiet life where she would take care of her mother for whose disease she feels responsible for. But her life is far from turning out as expected between her outgoing cousin, her never ending love for a guy she doesn't want to have and the return of her mysterious father she never knew.This story is like a fairy tale turned bad, when you think everything is bad, things turn worse. It was a very gripping story from beginning to end. Allison is an attractive character easy to rely too. It is also easy to understand her desire and struggles. The only part that sounded a bit harsh was the way she treated Ethan most of the time. I guess I will have to read the rest of the trilogy to figure out what will happen. I would recommend this to anyone who li... moreke fairy stories without a fairy tale connotation.
review 2: What an intriguing story.I was spell bound from the start.I loved that the characters are all easy to relate to.Allison has closed herself off from the world around her.Even the Ethan,the one person she truly loves.The only thing she really wants in life is to go to grad school and have her mother well.Her is schizophrenic or so the doctors thought.Allison soon learns there are secrets in her mothers past.A past that is unbelievable. Allison meets her long lost father and soon things are not as they seem.Learning that her mother is really in a spell and who her father really is has changed everything.Life as she knows it is about to get real and dangerous. Her father wants to help her and bring her mother out of the spell she was placed in.But things couldget dangerous so he wants to do it without Allison's help...not gonna happen. Allison sets out on a journey with her father and his people to find her mother who came up missing.Things become very adventurous from there. Great story that was plotted out well.I quite enjoyed this read! less
