review 1: This is super simple and cute for a birthday board book, but it is even more special for those that are familiar with all the various "If You Give a..." books. It's Mouse's birthday and he can eat whatever he wants he just had to decide. So... what will it be? Pancakes for Mouse or is that better for Pig? Cupcakes for Cat? Muffin for Mouse? Each one is visited and brings a smile to my face. And in the end with friends in queue it is exactly as it should be. Thanks to HarperCollins Children's for providing a copy for review.
review 2: I'm probably not the best person to review board books as they always seem too simple to me and I don't have any babies/toddlers to read them with so I can't tell their reactions. But, this one is cute enough. I really don't see ... morewhere it has anything in common with the other "Mouse" books story wise (except for the cute character, of course) but it's a cute little story about how Mouse goes looking around the house to find out who is leaving the eggs around the house. There's an added bonus that each time he finds eggs there is one more than the time before, so this can be used as a very early counting book, too. I think it goes up to five or six eggs. less
