review 1: Nocturne Cravings is a novella line - all stories are 15-25,000 words. I like that Laura Kaye has made her own series within this line and that each story is independent, but we get a little more information each time about the other kings, and their enemies - the soul eaters. Taken by the King was published in August 2013, so I'm hoping there is a new book coming out soon. :)There are seven vampire kings remaining in the world, and Book #3 in this series follows the story of King Magnusson of Norway. I loved the story setting and how the Aurora/Northern Lights are used to bring the hero and heroine together. Great imagery there. This romance had more tenderness that in Book #1 and #2 (which were more erotic), due to both Henrik and Laira being ill, but it worked very well ... morein showing the characters' inner strengths and their natural connection. The action and romance elements were nicely balanced; I felt like each scene had a strong purpose and moved the story along with a very smooth flow. (This can be an issue in novellas sometimes where the timeline is too jumpy). My only small criticism is regarding the use of foreign words. All the characters are actually speaking in Norwegian, not English, so it was unnecessary to write some words in Norwegian then switch back to English again. Stylistically it's better to only write foreign words that aren't translatable.Other than that, it was very well-edited and intriguing story. Reading it makes me want to go back and re-read the first two books again! I think I'm going to go buy some more Harlequin books too, I love 'em. :)
review 2: Stars: 4Overall: Your sick , well I'm sick too, lets heal each other. That was the main premise of the story and i loved it, but again like the first too I was hoping there was going to be more to the story. The story begins and we find out that Henrik is dying, with no cure in sight. Then in stumbles Kaira with her magic sick blood and she is the only woman in centuries, who's blood has actually healed Henrik. I had a little bit of a problem with how the characters connected in the story because I felt like there was no real time to actually get to know each other. She spent 2 of the 3 days away from him ,when i think they should've been talking and "experimenting". I loved the ending because it had that perfect circle story kind of feeling, but i wish Miss Kaye would've told us if Henrik's blood cured Kaira. Maybe she's start over and write book 2s for each of the kings. Oh a girl can only hope. =) Characters: Kaira & Henrik Page Turner: Yes! I just wish it was longer!Series Cont: Not sure, but i hope so! Recommend: Oh yes! less
