review 1: can i just say, i am so done! i hate when i literally fall in love with a book and then it kills me. i hate hate hate how it ended. i am highly upset about this. Laura is an amazing, very talented, creative writer. her writing technique is great! i, being a writer myself, learn a new writing technique with every new book i read. that is why most of the great writers are readers too. i loved this book, it became one of my new favorites. like "stay" and "the promise of amazing" it had spectacular, inspiring, and much longed-for romance. i absolutely could not stop reading this. let me just say, the romantic sex scene, it was just so perfect. i had to stop reading right in the middle of it and work on a paper. in school. it was quite embarrassing. but the only thing i could t... morehink about during class, was the fact that the connection that they had, no pun intended.., was just beautiful. i sometimes have moments like that with my boyfriend, but i wish we had more moments like those. i was blown away with how great this book was and how much it affected me. i am just very disappointed about how it ended. i will never be able to read this book and it have a happy ending, but you'd better believe that i imagined how it should have ended. finny breaks up with sylvie. he comes back home to autumn's house later that night and sneaks in her back door. he walks up to her room, he sitting patiently waiting for him, and they sleep together. not sex, just sleep. they are in love, and he is the sweetest, most caring boyfriend to autumn. she is the same way back to him. she misses her period, and they realize that she's pregnant. they get married, and live together raising their child. they have an amazing life together, both still alive. that is my ending. not exactly how i would have written it, just in a summary. so there ya go. that is my comment on this book. thankyou, Lauren for writing this amazing love story, but i dont appreciate you ending finny's life. :( i have cried a little too much for this ending.
review 2: This book was absolutely stunning. I loved it way more than I expected to! It is a YA book, but the author does not present sanitized teens and teen life - not that it's "dirty," not at all, but there is some language and sexual contact. I just appreciated the fact that she deals so candidly with some tough issues, and the characters speak and act like real teens. I could not put the book down, and I even "hid" in the bathroom one night to finish it in private!! (It was ugly, believe me! I NEEDED to be alone.) There are feels galore here, so be prepared to get emotional at some parts. I felt like my heart was breaking in two for much of the book - but I enjoy an emotional read. And I swear, for *days* after I finished, my mind kept going back to the characters - who are superbly drawn - and to the story. I felt like the two main teens were real people that I knew, it was just that good. Ahh! This is one of those books that, when you're finished, you wish you could go back and read it again for the first time! Long story short, if you like YA contemporary and are okay with lots and lots of feels, READ. THIS. BOOK. less
