review 1: Description: A little boy sits alone and begins to draw. The boy draws ten different pictures each with a number and each number has a specific phrase to go with the drawing. In the end, he hangs up all his drawings on the wall.Curriculum connection: Mathematics. K.4 The student will count forward to 100 and backward from 10.Personal reaction: I loved that the author wrote the number on one page and then you turn the page and there is a dye cut that frames a small word on the page before it to make a larger word. So not only is the reader learning how to count to ten, they can see that there are words within words which is important to helping students with their literacy. Visual appeal: The colors are bright. On every page the main object is in the middle of the page whic... moreh draws the reader's attention to the object.Genre: Counting BookIntended Audience: Ages 2-6
review 2: An excellent counting book with smooth concepts with the peek-a-boo pages and illustrations. Each page provided numerics from 1-10 showing what the characters are doing in the next pages. The children loved the book during preschool storytime hour so much that it was read a second time providing an great opportunity for review. Great for small audiences during story hour and for those who need to understand numbers 1-10 just a little more. less

I like how this one uses the cut-outs on the pages to create new pictures.
