review 1: This series is great and I love it but for me this book was the least interesting. That doesn't mean I didn't enjoy it because I did. I'm not sure why I felt that way because the books prior I could barely put down! The last half of the book pulled me back and I stayed interested. Overall I really like this series. The Mark of the Vampire series is great for anyone who enjoys paranormal romance. Now I'm off to read the newest in the series Eternal Demon!
review 2: I will be honest--if I could have skipped this book, I probably would have, even though I loved the first 3 books in this series. I did not care for either the H or the h in earlier books--or in their novella, but knew that in order to keep up with the larger story, I needed to read this one. I can ... moreadmit that I like them each a wee bit better after this book but I still find Gray self-centered and dismissive of his family, and I still find Dillon to be a raving beeyotch (I get that she was traumatized--but that doesn't mean that you get to be mean to everyone ALL the time). The 2 stars comes mainly from the catching up with other characters and the new twists that developed in the overarching story--and I am excited for Erion's story coming up next. less
