review 1: I received this book as a Goodreads first reader copy. I'm glad I won it! It was a really fun story that had in depth characters. It was definitely really unique. I've never read a story about a travel writer, so it was interesting to see that perspective be portrayed into a novel especially since I'm a writer myself! Although, parts of it were predictable.. a good amount of it kept you wondering! Overall it's a really cute story that touches your heart.
review 2: It was a curl up with a cup of coffee and escape kind of book. I would say that the architectural ramblings were a bit much. I'm sure there are those who would like that. I would have liked more of the history of the people tied to the houses and maybe weaved them more into the towns people. I don't k... morenow how satisfied the city girl would be in the small town either. Guess they sort of have her transitioning still into it so it wasn't necessarily a drastic move but still. At the heart of it, it's a book I could love. Small town, good vs evil, a love story. less
