review 1: Thanks to this book, I now have a cute little container of tasty brown goop on my bathroom vanity: homemade cinnamon-baking soda toothpaste. I've also whipped up a batch of lip balm, and am eyeing the scrubs and moisturizers for help with this long, drying Midwest winter. The recipes are easy, simple, and smell amazing. I did find the author's perky college-age tone of voice occasionally annoying, but then I'm an acknowledged grump and definitely not living in Southern California.
review 2: What I didn't realize when I bought the book was that the primary author was a college freshman. So a lot of the copy aside from the recipes is geared towards the young adult/college student. That doesn't mean the recipes don't apply for all ages but I am now intrigued to lo

There are some great ideas in combining the recipes for a more comprehensive gift as well as packaging/presentation ideas that are more eco friendly. I don't regret the purchase and am looking forward to trying some more of the recipes in the very near future.Currently the strawberry face wash and the honey yogurt facial mask are working wonders with my troubled skin. I've also tried the oatmeal/soy face wash, but it didn't suit my skin as much as the strawberry so now that winter has arrived I'm just using frozen strawberries. The cuticle oil is nice as well as some of the toners. less
