review 1: Read this in one sitting. I couldn't put it down. Loved Laney and Carson. Oh Carson..... just like that.... yes! Sorry, got distracted. Their banter was Hilarious and Sexual Tension was of the charts. Let's put two people together that refuse to fall in love with each other and see what happens!!!! Both, with more baggage than US Air, complicates their relationship. HEA. And Carson is, well, so soon worthy he may have bumped himself into my top 10.
review 2: What a surprise read! So I didn't know much about this book prior to reading it other than the synopsis so thought it would be this little tra-la-la-la-la romance about a couple of damaged people who start to have a sex with benefits thing going on and then lo and behold they love each other and th
... moreey ride off into the night. But dayuuum - this took a very interesting and darker turn. I was blown away. First things first - I loved Laney and Carson BUT I needed more backstory. I had a good sense of Carson - his history, his issues. But Laney was harder to grasp. I really appreciated the uniqueness of her profession. You don't see much of that in today's romance reads. But I don't remember reading much about what she looked like. There is a comment about the fact that she has a "butt and boobs" but not much else. This is my issue, but I prefer to visualize my characters particularly if I really like them. I also didn't get much about her background other than a few throwaway lines about her parents. Give me more!! Did love Carson - what a sweet, sexy messed up guy. You just wanted to hug him to make his bad stuff go away. The writing was good, particularly the banter. Excellent banter. But occasionally the writing was uneven. Not sure I can explain it but it was as if the book needed more depth in parts. Also the heat level was low. Yes, there was talk about cocks and such but not much detail. Which is OK but since I am a smut queen, I wanted some deets!! At any rate, this was a solid read and I will definitely read #2 which is about Carson's brother Hayden (what great names, eh?!). Hayden's brief foray into the story seared him in my mind. Yumminess in a suit! less
