review 1: Some novellas are just baby novels, and some are outsized short stories. Unfortunately this was one of the latter, and so my expectations were a mismatch for what this actually was -- a short, mostly-fluffy story which had a lot less actual plot or emotional torque than the summary made it sound. Strictly for fans only, and even then it didn't add much to the story of the Purple Gentian and his wife.
review 2: Lauren has a great voice and I have enjoyed all of novels in this series.This story covers what happens during Amy and Richard's first Christmas together at Uppington House. Obviously intrigue ensues! We also get to see Colin and Eloise spend Christmas eve together, although their story is left hanging. I actually have a hard time deciding which relations... morehip I am more interested in with this series the present or past one. decisions, decisions...Great little addition to the series. less
