review 1: Sweet RomanceEmily returns to her Grandmothers house in Elk Rapids, Michigan after being away for several years. Having moved to Chicago to pursue her dreams of writing, she is now back in the small town with her Nana where she had spent many summers there as a child, to help her Nana who had started showing signs of Dementia. Her Grandmother is Elizabeth Parrish, the award winning writer for the advice column 'Matters of Manners' for over 20 years and gave alot of good advice, especially since she was 'old school' in her way of thinking. Emily knew it would be hard for her to return for a short time to decide if she should bring her Nana back to Chicago with her or what she should do. What she didn't expect was to meet a small girl who hadn't spoken for over 3 years and... more her father, Jess. Jess seems to always be on edge and short with Emily, especially where his daugher, Katie, is concerned. He is a loving father and just wants to protect is child who refuses to talk. Katie soon becomes a fixture for young Katie and she wants to help figure out why she stopped talking and just wants to help.As Katie and Emily start to spend more time together, Jess starts to want to spend time with Emily as well. Emily is unsure how Jess really feels especially since he is so allusive about his feelings, making her very frustrated. She has to leave and go back to Chicago after she settles everything regarding her Nana. A return trip that she is not looking forward to now. --Excerpt (From Emily)My voice squeaked like I was about to cry. Damn It. The emotional rollercoaster with this man wa draining me and I was so tired a it was. In the past five minutes, I had gond from desire, to laughter, to flirting, to frustation. This was a really cute, sweet romance of a loving father trying to help his young daughter overcome the tramatic event of her mother leaving, and a city girl who came back to the small town to deal with her Nana. I really enjoyed it, especially when Jess would say things like this "Because I don't know if you want me as Yours, or even if I can belong to someone, and I can't promise a word like Forever, so I'm putting myself in the present. Now."If you like a sweet romance with some great characters, I'm very certain you would love this book too.
review 2: This book is great! The character I loved the most is Katie! She is just such a beautiful character. She made this book a 5 star read for me. I love Jess. He is alpha and sweet mixed up into the perfect man. The way he is with Katie is just great! Emily is the girl that takes both of them by surprise. I am just smiling. After reading this book I just can't stop smiling. Such a sweet romantic read. This was the perfect feel good book. I was so needing a feel good read. I am super excited that I got the chance to read this. L.B. Dunbar stole my heart in her writing and I cannot wait to read the next book in this series. I hope it is as wonderful, sweet, and sexy as this read. This is a book that will leave you in a feel good romance mood! I love it and want more of this feeling!~Lisa less
