review 1: This is a very easy five stars for me. I knew within a couple of pages that it would automatically go on my favorites shelf.I love bad boys. I love stories with kids in them. And (though I didn't know this until like RIGHT NOW.. even considering how many books I've read) I love books with cops in them. There is a specific part where Devyn shows up at his evil ex's place to pick up his son (Kail) because she had not shown up for court ordered visitation. The description of what Devyn finds when he gets there will break your heart and make you fall in love with Devyn. And I did because I'm a sucker for a good dad. Of course Devyn's description helps too but that's the shallow me talking. :) Excellent story. Everything from the very beginning until the last words. ... moreIt is a short story but everything is written so well that you do not feel that there is anything missing. So much put into only a few pages.I believe this is my first by this author. I can guarantee that it will definitely not be my last. I am so glad I finally got around to starting on the anthology that includes this story. I am discovering so many amazing authors as a result.
review 2: This was a sweet story that includes romance, child custody, and family to make it a special read. Devyn is now a divorced young guy who finds out his son is being neglected, but because the judged based the custody on his tattoo pierced appearance he has to take drastic measures to take care of his son. Sully is Devyn's neighbor and he sees a beautiful man that he is instantly attracted to, but wants more. Sully gets his chance when Devyn has trouble with a sick baby Kail and Sully comes to the rescue.For a short story, this one was a great read. less
