review 1: (Jul) This was a short story about lovers who were part of a triad, until one of their members died. For reasons not really delved into, the two remaining men then parted (did they see each other at the funeral?!) and 10 years later one reaches out to the other. There is strain between them, a lot left unsaid, but they somehow manage to find their way into bed and back to one another in a scant few pages. Ok, but would have made a much better story with more details filled in.
review 2: I’ve read several books by Lee Brazil and I’ve liked them all. Lee writes emotionally driven stories that often live with me long after I finish reading the story, so I had a feeling after I read the blurb to The Park at Sunrise, this was going to be another example of the a... moreuthor’s amazing storytelling ability.The blurb does an excellent job at describing the story, so I won’t rehash it. I will say that ever since Paul’s untimely death, both Morgan and Jason have been going through the motions of life. Each man has been mourning for years and although they are successful within their own right, they are very restless and unhappy. Not only do they miss Paul, but they miss each other. I thought the author did an outstanding job at describing the grief and loss these two men went through. I also enjoyed how Morgan and Jason worked their way through a lot of emotional baggage to they can be together. In all honesty, even though this book is under 55 pages, it is so well-written it reads more like a full length novel.Beautifully written with an emotionally driven storyline and well-written characters, The Park at Sunrise is a book not to be missed! I’m looking forward to reading more books by Lee Brazil and highly recommend this book. less
