review 1: I love Lee Evans but i've never been a fan of biographies or autobiographies however I really could not put this book down!I was laughing and crying so much throughout the book. From childhood antics to college to struggling to cope with living alone and the financial issues that go along with it, Lee Evans book it brilliantly written so you experience everything as though you were there. I cannot recommend this book enough. Lee Evans wit, humour and intelligence come through so well it is as if he is reading it aloud. Brilliant book about the making of Britain's best comedian.
review 2: I know that Lee Evans is highly regarded as a standup comedian, but I'd only ever seen him in the film Funny Bones. Then I saw him interviewed by Alan Carr and was astounded to
... more discover that he is terrified of being on stage, so I was intrigued to read his autobiography to find out more. Initially I thought the book too artlessly written but its simple charm started to work on me. There is definitely no ghost-writing here, it is all straight from the horse's mouth, and that's really refreshing. There's something quite disarming about how he tells his story. less
