review 1: I've just read the free sample of this book and its brilliant. You can tell he has a depth and strength of spirit and that humour has been a survival strategy. He is in the tradition of what I think of as an 'authentic' clown who can have you crying one minute and crying with laughter the next. Looking forward to reading the rest of it - and if you live in Bristol it gives an insight into life in Lawrence Weston in the 70s.
review 2: Lee Evans is without a doubt my favourite comedian and has been since I can remember. I enjoy his DVDS and material every much, I watch it probably way more than is probably healthy. I even had the luck of meeting him a year ago after his Road Runner performance in Nottingham. I was over the moon when I heard he was to release a bo... moreok last christmas and knew it had to be on my 'christmas list'!However I was disappointed when 'The Life of Lee' turned out to be nothing more than based on his childhood and teenage years. It left me on a huge cliffhanger at the end and I really hope that there is another one approaching because I am determined to continue on reading about his rise to fame because it is so interesting. It wasn't what I was expecting but it was still one of my most enjoyable reads to date. Not perfect whatsoever and I sometimes found it a bit repetitive and not as gripping but I still found out so much about Lee and I thoroughly enjoyed reading about his journey. I really hope there is another one coming soon. less
