review 1: Awesome book! I love the storyline and the characters, especially Emma and Bennett!! Oh and the ghosts!! I adore Nicholas and want a friend like Celeste! They were just so amazing. I lived the concept of this book and it was just so beautiful and haunting. It combined the past and present. I loved the past. It also has a bit of a mystery in it and it just keeps on going. The ending was an unexpected cliffhanger and this book really makes you question about who to trust. Definitely a book worth reading.
review 2: Honestly, it was good, but not great. It just seemed like something was missing and the twists and turns didn't always add up. Kind of like the author thought, oh needs to be more confusing so I can stretch this out into a series. But I really some of t... morehe characters. But those were hit or miss too. I like Emma and Harry's witty banter and flirting. I felt that none of the other characters had much depth to them. Honestly, as far as a love story goes, it sucked. I wasn't invested in Bennett at all. He was just a stand offish guy for most of the book, right before declaring his love for Emma and his willingness to give up everything for her. I also hated Emma's willingness to overlook all the horrible things Bennett did to her. She was portrayed as this strong female, then completely let him walk all over her. I was rooting for Coby or even Harry the entire time because they were both so much more likable than Bennett. But that could be because we actually got to know them a little bit better. Plus, did anyone else think it was weird that the ghosts wanted to spend their afterlives as the help? As far as a romantic ghost story, I would say this was a bust. less
