review 1: Leia Shaw knows how to write sexy, badass vamps. Marcelo was the perfect alpha vamp. Leia Shaw was able to write Erins disorder in such a realistic way. Erin's (Aila) inability to go into stores or be around crowds was portrayed perfectly. I totally felt for her and her disorder. I enjoyed reading the way Erin grew through the whole book, overcoming her fear, alcohol and the pills. What was best about that was how much Marcelo helped her through it all. Erin was a meak, timid human at the start of this book. In the middle of the book she was a semi-confident, skittish, somewhat confused Fae. At the end of this book Erin was Aila, confident, kickass archer Fae who was touched by a Goddess!! Leia continues to wow me with this series. She introduces us to unforgettable second... moreary characters who light up the pages. I cant wait for the next book.
review 2: OMG- I am in love with a vampire! I read a review that didn't like the banter between Marcelo and Erin/Aila and I disagree totally... It added some much needed levity to the story.. It made me smile and it allowed me to admire how damaged people can come into themselves, to make themselves better. Leia Shaw has a knack for taking us through a mariad of feelings as the relationships grow among her characters.. A definite must read! less
