review 1: This YA novel was reviewed by Underground Book Reviews, which gave the book a 4.5 out of 5 stars, so I was eager to read the book and check it out. However, the writing was so simplistic and, at times, incredibly poor, and there were so many plot holes, especially with the scientific aspects of the story, that I could never rate this book with five stars. The characters are one-dimensional, the villain at the end practically comes out of nowhere laughing mwuh-ha-ha-ha! and the author's ending leaves so many questions and bizarre loose ends that I found myself disheartened to have actually finished the book. I was hoping to discover a gem of self-publishing, but I won't be reading any more books in this series.
review 2: 3.5 stars very nice read. Love the cover.... more Elias and Merrin are only one's. If you have 2 powers you are a super if you have no power you are a normal and if you have only one power you are a freak and don't belong with neither. What does it mean that you don't belong with no group. Merrin will do anything to belong with the supers, she wants nothing more than to fly. She wants to get an internship by the Hubb ( the super research center)so she studies hard. She meets Elias at her normal school and they become fast friends. The love building was good. Together they can do so much more than only float. They discover the real research and training the Hubb is doing with the twin brothers and sisters. Now they have to fight back to prevent becoming lab rats. less
