review 1: Two 1/2 starsI liked it, but didn't love it. A good little friends to almost-lovers to enemies to lovers story. I found it hard to believe that Holden would wait two years to actually confront Bev about their relationship and the game that drove her away. He called apparently, but never physically went to see her or forced the issue...didn't strike me as true given his take-charge attitude about everything else.
review 2: The writing wasn't bad but the conflict seemed forced and trivial in comparison to the amount of time that passed. Considering that this is the introductory story to a series, more time could've been taken. The lack of background work makes the characters come across as two dimensional and that leads to sex scenes that don't quite hit the... more mark. But I didn't hate it and am curious about the following stories. less
