review 1: 3.5 stars.Max is such an absurd, neurotic, lovable character. He is the whole reason to read this book. Max's struggle with his anxieties is at least as important to the plot as his budding romance with the worthy-but-slightly-boring Joe. Joe definitely needed more characters development; he is the weak link in a story full of quirky, colorful characters. I wish Max's coworkers were fleshed out a bit more as well, since they are almost as funny as Max is. Nitpicks aside, though, this is a very entertaining read.
review 2: The book was delightful and hilarious. The book revolves around Max Tomlin, self proclaimed advertising genius of Manhattan. He is a narcissistic, neurotic douche bag with a hyper-inflated ego. In theory, he should be a really despicable
... morecharacter but Lenore Black manages to make him amusing and funny. Max and his antics had me in splits the entire time. Not to mention Max is a not all washboard abs and sculpted chest. Those 'flaws' made him even more endearing. The Don Draper reference was absolutely awesome and hilarious to boot! less

It's a sweet story, though I expected the relationship to develop a bit slower, still a good read.

I liked this book, I just wished it was bigger. Really nice characters, very nicely written.
