review 1: This book does contain insightful commentary about the life and character of Jesus. I did find the author took a few too many liberties in speculation of what Jesus was thinking or doing, and the book is somewhat tedious to read in some areas. Overall, though I did learn some factual information from the book, and having a different perspective is beneficial if you are able to clearly remember some of the content is made up.
review 2: I thought this book was a fantastic look at Christ, not only his time on earth but His workings throughout the span of all eternity past and future. I read this more like a devotional but it is going to be a great reference source for me in the future. Just a word of caution that Sweet can be very "poetic" in his writing at time... mores, so be sure to be prepared for it or else you might miss something good. less
