review 1: Some people love this book. Others dislike it, and I am one of them. A woman is murdered some years ago. The murder is unsolved and a retired detective dies as he is returning to the case. His daughter tries to pick up the threads and encounters in the process a strange man, Jack. These are the two central characters in the book, and I could not really relate to either. There was also too much minor and boring detail, and I found the way the story developed implausible. At the least the book needed substantial editing.

... morepened. Some bits were quite obvious long before they were revealed and other bits seemed superfluous but overall I enjoyed it as a change from my usual reading. Not ideal for reading late at night as touching on creepy in parts. less

This is my second book by Lesley Thomson that I have not got in to.

A fast-paced thriller with many twists and turns. Loved it.
