review 1: I got to the third sentence when I decided not to finish this book. Odd, I know, but when you have an agent, an editor, and probably a whole team of editing crew at your disposal and no one catches a missing word in the *third* sentence, this aggravates me. Petty, I know, but when the book I really want to read isn't polished like it should be...it's the little things that can turn a reader away. For me, it was a simple missing "of".
review 2: This book attempted to take every main topic of young adult/coming of age novels and try to make it into one cohesive story. I started off not liking this book due to how the main character didn't have much of a personality and how she just let everyone around her tell her what to do. Before I knew it, I was too far into
... morethe book to simply stop. Although I know how the plot was based around the main character interacting with a man who is in her 20s, I still can't but think that was the worst storyline. The fact that she was involved with someone ten years older did not seem plausible, let alone it was incredibly uncomfortable and creepy. The story became easier to read as the pages went on, but I rather spend my time with books that have a strong main character that you can get behind. If you're looking for this kind of book, it is not it. Average book that tried too hard to appeal to every hot topic of the genre. Sometimes, less is more. less

Kind of a melancholy downer of a book. It ends ok but left me sad.
