review 1: In the final book of the series, Christmas is approaching, and at first, everything seems great for Sabine. Nona is better, things are wonderful with Dominic, and school is going fine. And then she gets a call from her ex-boyfriend Josh's mom, who says Josh is missing and his dog refuses to eat. Sabine and Dominic go to try and help--Dominic with the dog and Sabine to see if she can find a clue to where Josh is. But what she discovers is her half-sister and her arch nemesis, Evan are dating. And Evan blames Josh's disappearance on her, and tells her if she doesn't find him by Christmas, he'll tell the whole school her secret about being a psychic. Even though she doesn't regret not being with Josh anymore, she is worried about him and Dominic decides to help find him... more. Except that a private investigator shows up asking questions about Dominic and his somewhat sketchy past, after living with an abusive uncle. So Dominic goes into hiding for a while before deciding to turn himself in and face whatever consequences there may be. So Sabine, though heartbroken, turns to Thorn to help find Josh using her special gifts. And she finds out from her dad that Jade is also missing. Did Jade go after Josh? Why? And meanwhile, the unlikely combination of Thorn and Penny-Love team up to find out information on Penny-Love's ex-boyfriend--and discover him murdered! So they're out of the picture for a while investigating this crime, and Sabine gets a mysterious call from Jade and goes after her and Josh, who are in a remote magician's compound with Josh's mentor and others, including someone very evil. Will everyone escape? Will Dominic clear his name? Will Thorn and Penny-Love find out what happened to the murdered man or get blamed for the crime? Tune in to find out! :-)I thought this was a good, fast-paced and interesting end to the series. Presumptions of various characters get overturned as unlikely folks work together to solve mysteries and to help each other. And, of course, I like that it has a happy ending.
