review 1: carrie a sassy mouth girl in love with luke pretty rich boy she thinks she not good enough for. luke asks carrie for a walk in the park but when friends of his go by and he hinds carrie she's not fooled and calls him on it which starts the friendship between them. problems start with bother their insecurities and secrets bring them together.it was a nich love story and I admit a dropped a few tears and when everyone knows if you a book gets water works its a good book.
review 2: This book begins and ends (well not quite ends) with a funeral. It's the story between that makes this such a special read. Carrie Paxton has a crush on star quarterback, Luke Carter. As editor of the high school newspaper, she must interview him after the "big game". From this meetin
... moreg, a relationship grows. The first hesitant interactions between these two drive a story that nearly everyone can relate to. That first crush, first kiss, first love, and yes, that first tragedy that makes teenagers realize that they are not invulnerable. Linda Kage brings such depth to her characters that I could actually empathize with them. I grew up in that small town where everyone knows everyone else. I went to school with kids just like these. I lived that impossible crush. I felt the anxiety of that first kiss. I knew of the girl that got pregnant. And I, too, attended the funeral of a classmate killed in a car accident. And we all have faced that loss of innocence that comes with growing up. Reading this book brought back so many memories; good and bad. It made me reflect back on my life. Where I started and how far I've come since those high school years. I think that is what a good book is supposed to do. Not just entertain you, but perhaps to also make you think. In this, I believe Linda Kage has wonderfully achieved her goal. less
