review 1: I am completely baffles by all of the positive reviews posted on this book.They gave me such high expectations...The author must have "planted" them because NO WAY would anyone give it 5 stars.I hate romance novels and that is what this is: a boring, formulaic, Harlinesque, romance novel.The dialogue is ridiculous - The characters simply lecture at each other. No one talks this way.The author OVERLY describes the physical attributes of the main characters and too much time is spent on their complimenting each other's beauty, intelligence, etc .....Paragraph after boring paragraph extolls these ridiculous "qualities'...With its farfetched storyline, "Explosion in Paris" was CHEESY from beginning to end ...I can't believe anyone could ever have enjoyed it.ONE of the most unb... moreelieveable moments was when the "hero" literally rides up to our heroine on a WHITE STALLION!YES, he does!!And, did I mention the author's overuse of EXCLAMATION POINTS?!!!!!!!!!Do not waste your time on "Explosion in Paris"...............
review 2: I was pleasantly surprised by this book! When I first read the jacket and looked at the cover I assumed it was another romance novel. I was wrong. The characters were very real and the story was so interesting that I didn't want to put it down. This is more of a compelling mystery – suspense that has you eager to turn the page to see what is in store for these believable characters. A realistic modern marriage goes bad and leads down a murderous path and the joy of the right mix of personalities creates real love. It is refreshing to read an author whose excellent vocabulary and writing style makes the reading extra pleasurable and intertwined with such a powerful storyline makes a great novel. This book was way more in depth than your average romance and had a nice surprise ending. The epilogue was my favorite part. less
