review 1: I couldn't even finish the book. It was entertaining but excessively boring at the same time. How can this even be?!?! The book was humorous and refreshing especially if you were just out of a relationship, but it is overly exaggerated! Okay he dumped you.. HIS LOSS! And why is she so attached to this male anyway!I mean if he is as loving and understanding he wouldnt leave her like that. Character contradiction is the biggest fallacy. Ever. However, the book does convey a side of real like where cruelty is a fact rather than a state of literature. Another exaggeration in the book were her friends. Okay so her gay friend who is incredibly handsome and understanding and loving and.... Seriously!!! Where can i find this guy?Or her super slutty friend. Just ew! Before helping y... moreour friend help yourself first huney...So, I didnt like this book. But i also didnt absolutely hate it either.... I couldnt finish it because it somehow made me bored and sick...If i had been in her shoes maybe i would have finished it because i was able to understand what she has been through.
review 2: 3.5Rachel Summers reminded me so much of one of my best friends. Me? I am more of an Emelie rather than a Rachel. That said, I think in a way it may have influenced the way I feel about the story but saying it is not a good story just because "I was not feeling it" is unfair because the story is still good. Thus, I gave it a 3.5 star. Rachel have come a long way from being a girl who is always in a relationship and spend most of her time catering to the love of her life, Simon, into someone who is happy being single and don't mind if she is not going down the aisle anytime soon because she is too busy jet setting around the country. The story is basically the typical 'I love my boyfriend, we bought a house and car together and we'll get married soon have a cute children and live happily ever after.' turning into 'I am single and independent woman with new hair and clothes that makes me hot as hell so fuck you all gross men I deserve the perfect one'. All these happened with the help of her two trusty and supportive bestfriends and 'the to-do list'. Oh yes, you'd be suprise with the kind of power the to do list hold especially to someone with an OCD (I know this because I usually developed some kind of an OCD with a to do list when it comes to completing my assignments at school and studying for final exams). Now what I think could have made the story even better is if there's some more to it about Emelie and Matthew. The story on Emelie and Matthew felt like an add on rather than something that naturally is a part of the story. I don't know, maybe it's because the things that happened in Matthew and Emelie's personal life is only discussed vaguely. There's not much story about what actually happened between Emelie and Paul and also Matthew and his boyfriend. The same goes to Dan, he came up in the beginning of the story, just a little bit on the middle and then around like the end somewhere. Or I don't know, maybe it's just me. less
