review 1: I actually really enjoyed the story itself however it needs some serious editing. It could've been made more cohesive with a good editor and things like "bought" being used instead of "brought" every single time wouldn't have happened. It drove me nuts, I'm afraid. Also, "my lover" was used and that is a personal squick for me. Just can't stand it. I did try book 2 as well and it was the same issue. If some of this could be cleaned up and edited, I think this could be a very enjoyable series but I won't be reading the next books in the series.
review 2: One and a half stars. As many of you know I love shifter stories and especially gay shifter stories. I think my love for this kind of story made me give at least an extra half star to this book. The story lin... moree was ordinary: Gay son of pack alpha gets tossed out of pack because he is gay. He meets other gay shifters and starts own pack. The character of Shawn added a little twist to story. There was no chemistry between the two MCs.. Of course any flow of story was constantly interrupted by mistakes. EDIT! EDIT! EDIT!!!!!!!!! And if you decide to change wording in a sentence, make sure you delete all of the old phrasing. If I was proofing this story, I would have sent it back with major corrections. I have another pet peeve. Use slang that fits the character and the setting. I love the word "arse" but it is not used by young American guys. This book is not set in Scotland. Maybe a character would use it once for fun but not over and over and over again. Save your precious reading time for something better. less
