The Secret Life of Amy Bensen
review 1: ***I was given a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review for Nerd Alert Book Love blog***Amy Bensen must flee New York and start over again in Denver. With nothing but empty luggage and a new identity, Amy boards a plane to run from her past. Amy is a beautiful, intelligent girl forced to run for survival but she suffers from nightmares and flashbacks as well."...How high you stand isn't as important as how magnificent you are..."At the airport and again on the plane Amy meets the sexy billionaire, Liam Stone. Liam's mysterious, dark, and dominating ways win Amy over and help fill a very lonely void in her life. "...Honest. That freedom is everything to me..." Can Amy finally start over and build a life for herself? Will she continue to have to... more look over her shoulder? Will she learn who her handler really is? Will she piece together the missing pieces of her past or will she be left with more questions? How will Liam fit into everything? Or will she be forced to run again? "...Run to me Amy, not away from me..." This is the first Lisa Renee Jones book I have personally read, and I have to say I am an instant fan. This story reminds me of a mysterious and suspenseful Pretty Woman! What girl does love Pretty woman? This story keeps you on the edge of your seat and questioning so many things. And the ending will completely blow you away. Have book 2 ready! I'm going to read it right now! I give Escaping Reality a Nerd Alert B+ or 4.5 stars.
review 2: To be honest, I kind of want my money back, and I'll tell you why.First of all, based on "The Secret Life of Amy Bensen", I thought this book would be something like a spy-like of book. But I couldn't be more wrong. Amy Bensen is living with a lie, she is hiding from someone she doesn't even know. But she know one thing if they find her she will be killed just like the rest of her family. ->Amy or whatever her name is turn out to be as clueless as me while I am reading this book. The book started out with Amy received a note telling her to relocate immediately out of NYC to Denver, because the people she is hiding from are coming for her. Then before she board her plane she saw this guy, typically very attracted and etc. The next thing she know, she have been promoted to first-class, and guess what, she is sitting right next to this handsome stranger.->based on her situation, I am surprised she didn't question this. I mean, she is on the run and something unusual happened. But no, not Amy. Amy have never met her "handler", she just blindly listening to this stranger's instruction to do whatever for years. ->for awhile I thought this is a human trafficking theme, since the word "handler" are being use.So Amy moved to Denver, met the handsome stranger that turned out to be a billionaire. Whom immensity making Amy his business. He does the typical bossy things, buys her stuff, talk to her into staying with him and etc. ->boring.->I don't know about you, but if I am hiding from someone, I don't even think I would be talking to a stranger, handsome or not. Since Amy doesn't even know who to trust, but she become intimate with Liam anyway, who is not only rich but a powerful public figure, which can easily expose her secret identity. ->Don't get me wrong there were plenty of clues that scream something isn't right hre, but Amy never do anything about it. Amy was so wrapped up by Liam, that the story kind of stop when these two are around each other. For example, her new boss whom she never managed to get a hold of. Not to mention this Meg woman who never seem to be in the office actually "working". Or the bogus housing list, the empty office, and etc. ->Amy and Liam made me want to hit my head against hard surface repeatedly. They kept going back and forth with the "trust me" issue, their drama overshadowed the plot, if there was one in the beginning. ->In the end I felt Amy was so clueless, I am surprised she managed to hid from her family's killer this long. less

Escaping reality is the story of a young girl, Amy Benson, who has suffered some sort of traumatic past – enough for her to be on the run - with a secret identity and a handler who tells her its time to up and leave as her current identity is compromised. Sounds pretty good so far...and it was a very quick start, straight in there with the mystery and intrigue, I couldn't wait to find out all about this girl and the ghosts she was running from...Then Amy Benson gets on a flight and sits next to multi-billionaire Christian Grey...Oops, did I say Christian Grey? Sorry I meant Liam Stone. I must have been confused by his dazzling good looks, his huge bank balance, his desire to teach the poor, innocent, and inexperienced young Amy a multitude of pleasures that she could never imagine in her wildest fantasies, and his ridiculous overuse of the word 'baby'. Was this author serious?! And when Liam turns up in his grey suit and matching grey silk tie...well I couldn't help but wonder how long it took the plagiarism lawyers to be knocking on Jones' door! At one point I even read “We are the many shades of gray...” I mean, come on!!Unfortunately, what promised to be a great mystery thriller, turned out to be a complete rip-off of a story that I'm quite well known for not having enjoyed even the first time around! The ending was very abrupt - I was hoping Amy's demons and the mystery surrounding her life would somewhat make up for all of this – but it turns out I have to read the next in the series to even hope to get any answers...and I'm just not sure if I can do that to myself again! *My thanks to the author and Julie Patra Publishing for providing this book for review

i loved this story about Amy Benson and how she had to go on the run for her life she even had to fake her own death .. but along the way she meets Liam a rich man who has his eyes set on Amy and wants to help her he seems to be able to read her and be able to connect with her in ways even Amy cannot Deny .. but is Liam true to his word or is there more than meets the eye with Liam Stone and will Amy and Liam be a match in heaven or hell or in between to find out buy and read and then leave a review i have loved Lisa's books since i found out about Lisa and her books this series would be my fourth book series that i have read from ,,,,so buy read and relax and enjoy the adventure of a lifetime for Amy and Liam ..i cannot believe i did not review this omg so not right smacks forehead
