review 1: I enjoyed learning about Jon Stewart's early career and the evolution of The Daily Show. Nothing stunning or groundbreaking here -- I would say this one's primarily for fans, especially those who don't mind the same quotes and anecdotes repeated a few times and some weird jumps in chronology. The major disappointment was that many brilliant masters of comedy writing were interviewed for this book but all the quotes from them that got included were completely mundane.
review 2: Oh, how I love Jon Stewart. He is so smart and so funny and so worthy of a really good biography. Unfortunately, this one is pretty cheesy. It's clear that the author had no access to Stewart or to anyone close to him; it's mostly a cut-and-paste of other sources. It served its purpose
... moreof distracting me while sitting in a hospital waiting room, and I'll give the author points for including negative opinions of Stewart instead of going for all-out hagiography. less
