review 1: I think this is a great book for young teens. After reading this book, I am giving it to my niece who is 12 & I think she will be able to relate to Diana because my niece loves horses also. The book does not lag & keeps a nice pace to keep young readers interested. I did not realize this was a series & now I want to read the next one to see what becomes of the wolves (if that is included in the next book?). I was a little concerned about the medications that Diana had to take but totally understand that they can be a part of a person's life. She didn't always take them as prescribed, so I didn't like that part being in the book since this book is written for young teens. I know some will probably be able to relate to that part of the book, but I would not want others to fo... morellow in her footsteps or think that it is ok to take meds how you want to take them instead of the prescribed way. I just think it would have been better to have left the parts about the medications out & left it as her having a rebellious feeling because of her parents divorce. Just my opinion. I still liked the book.
review 2: This was an awesome start to a series! I love how the chapters take turns giving the perspective of both girls, one for Diana and one for Stephanie. I thought it was great the way Stephanie was really trying to get along with Diana and how Diana finally gave in and started being nicer to her. I only wish the author gave more details on what the deal was with Diana's father. Clearly something was up, but you're just kind of left wondering what was going on that he was being so rotten. Hopefully I'll know more once I start the second book, which I plan to do as soon as I am done posting the review. This book is a great example of how it's not always a cakewalk when two people get married and blend a family together. Luckily, it seems like its going to work, although Stephanie's dad Norm may have to get used to Diana's moods. I ABSOLUTELY loved it towards the end when Lynn, Diana's mom, finally grew a pair and let him know that regardless of her love for him, Diana is her only child, and she will always love her more! It's nice to see a parent act like a parent for a change. I do the same thing with my husband and son (hubby's stepson). Great book, highly recommend and can't wait to read book two! less

Her books are some of my very favorite books. I've read them over and over again.
