review 1: Resolute is another short story in the Dominion series, this one takes place just before the events of the first book, and it explains us the circumstances that lead Sei to work at Gabe’s. Fed up with being harassed and bullied by his fellow students, Sei leaves his last job at the campus and finds himself in a difficult position to keep his independence without resorting to his mother. He turns to the only one person he trusts, Gabe, and asks him for a job at his place. Struggling with his complex of inferiority and his fears of spoiling his relationship with Gabe, Sei soon finds out he was made for the job. With his help, The Bloody Bar and Grill improves both menu and service.
review 2: I love how even though Gabe is his lover, and not his steady boyfriend... more, Seiran doesn't consider him just a fuck buddy, but a real friend.The atmosphere in the bar was frantic and friendly and the food sounded great - Sei is finally feeling confident enough to try something new and show what he's worth.I'm gonna have to do a reread of Inheritance soon - these shorts are reviving my love for the series and I want to have the details fresh in mind when I read #2. less
