review 1: All the World is a Caldecott Honor Book follows a family throughout their day. It shows the importance of all things, whether they be big or small. The Caldecott Honor is awarded to books because of their pictures. There is a good balance between smaller pictures and pictures that take up two whole pages. Every other page is a landscape page that takes up two pages. These pages are full of color and look realistic. The smaller pictures are also colorful and realistic looking. Children will like this book because it rhymes and has repetition. The repetition is "All the world is..." Also the end will make them feel important. They will also like the colorful realistic pictures.
review 2: Beautiful watercolor and prismacolor pencil illustrations bring this book to... more life. It has simple, rhyming couplets, which say a lot with just a few words. Those words are set in curves and bumps which compliment the illustrations. The story follows a family through different settings from a seaside, to a cafe, to a market and other places a family would visit. It is a glimpse into the lives of two adults and two children enjoying the simple things in life. This book is a celebrations of life's wonders and discoveries. I love the perspective of the kids looking out into the world on the front cover with the clouds stretching out in front of them. It would be a great book to include in a text set about families, siblings, or towards the end of the year, when students are getting ready for summer. You don't see the kids in the story on cell phones or in front of the t.v. or a screen, which is nice. less
