review 1: A charming book about a worm who gets up on the wrong side of the bed and is cheered up by the relentless optimism of his best friend, Lou (a bird!). I know some people had issue with the shifting of speakers within on single pages, but I think this book screams to be read outloud. The short, lyrical phrases and back in forth nature of the dialogue lend themselves to fun voices and a dynamic storytime.The art is a bit primative, but bright and bold.

... moreessage worth hearing even though most of us have heard it before. It's interesting that a friendship exists between this unlikely pair. The watercolor illustrations complement the text nicely and show the personalities of bird and worm. less
